The Chameleon Analog Input Module (AIN-1) provides a versatile input suite capable of reading a variety of signals, including voltage, current, and resistance (providing RTD and thermocouple support).  The module has 14 input channels that can be individually configured in software to read voltage, current, or resistance with no reconfiguration or rewiring required.

Powered by an ARM processor with onboard RAM and flash memory, the AIN-1 provides sufficient computational power to handle the most demanding applications.  The AIN-1 embedded firmware is stored in its flash memory and is upgradeable: you can rest assured that the hardware investment you make in Chameleon will not become obsolete.

Using Fairmount Automation’s intuitive and easy-to-use graphical programming package (Design Pad) you can develop sophisticated data processing schemes for the AIN-1 in a matter of hours—without any prior programming experience.  Programming the device entails “drawing” a signal processing scheme using a vast array of configurable function blocks.  Once complete, configuration programs are downloaded to the unit via a wireless IR interface.

Each AIN-1 provides internal data logging as well as an integral user-interface, including four four-digit numeric displays and eight status-indication LEDs.  Each display set has an associated tag holder for signal labeling.

As with all Chameleon modules, the AIN-1 offers unequaled ruggedness.  It is specifically designed for sustained operation in severe environments, including those characterized by extreme shock, vibration, electro-magnetic interference, temperature, and/or humidity.  Its fully-sealed enclosure (sealing end-caps not pictured) ensures long-lasting operation in the grimiest settings.  In fact, Chameleon modules can operate fully submerged.
