All programmable Chameleon modules have updatable control code (also called firmware) that can be transferred via the IRDA interface and Design Pad G3 or Schema Viewer G3.  Control code for all Chameleon modules is stored in a single common file:

Some modules (like the PCM-1 module) also contain one or more integrated circuits call a Programmable Logic Device (PLD.)  All updates for Chameleon PLDs are stored in a common file:
