The UCM-1SSR is a version of the UCM-1 module that contains a heat-sunk solid state relay capable of switching large AC loads.  The output of the relay is a opto-triac that provides near zero-voltage turn on and zero-current turn off.  This provides for a soft start and reduces switching EMI on inductive loads.  The output also includes a varistor to help absorb external surges.

The relay is activated from an externally generated 5 to 24VDC control signal.  This signal can come from the digital or analog outputs of a PCM-1 module or digital outputs of a DAM-1 or DAM-2 module.
