IrDA Wireless Interface
A link from a PC or laptop to Chameleon is required to
(initially) program and interface with the device. In most
cases, this link is in the form of wireless IrDA using an
adaptor.
The IrDA adaptor can plug into your computers RS-232 serial or
USB port. Due to inconsistencies with laptop RS-232 ports
it is recommended that a USB to RS-232 converter be used (which
then connects to the RS-232 IrDA adaptor.)
Note: Do not use a native USB based IrDA adaptor -- the adaptor
must be RS-232.

It is recommended that all field
wire connections be terminated with a ferrule or blade lug before

Label Sheets
Chameleon's user interface elements can be identified
using labels from perforated label sheets. These
label sheets are constructed from materials that cause
the fused ink to be resistant to water and oils when
printed from a standard laser printer. Design Pad
G3 contains an integrated printing tool for these
labels.

connection. If you are mounting to a grounded surface then it is
recommended that you connect a braid from the external ground stud directly
to the surface. There are also chassis ground wire terminals located
on the power supply's wiring hub. If your system is to be MIL-STD 461E
qualified then you must add a chassis ground braid on every module in
the node.
