Photo-Electric Smoke

Heat

The Discovery Heat Detector features a low air flow resistance case and a single thermistor to sense the air temperature around the detector.

Ionization Smoke

The UL Discovery Ionization Smoke Detector incorporates an ionization chamber design using Americium 241R to irradiate the air in the smoke chambers. If smoke enters the chamber, the current flow is reduced leading to an alarm.
