Isolation provides Class A / X short-circuit protection by disconnecting the network segment associated with a short to allow the remaining intact network to function. When the short is resolved the isolators automatically reconnect the segment. The isolation mechanism differs depending on product family:

  • Soteria Family devices include isolators in the detector head. The Soteria base include a mechanical ‘wiper’ arm that ensures the loop is maintained when the head is removed.
  • Discovery and XP95 Family detectors do not have isolators in the head and instead depend on isolators that are located in the base.

Soteria UL Base

The Soteria UL Base – 4″ base is an easy-fit 4″ base, compatible with Apollo’s latest Soteria UL and XP95A detector ranges.

  • Single base that supports isolated Soteria UL and non-isolated XP95A detectors
  • 8 bit address card for additional address support when used with Soteria UL detectors and CoreProtocol
  • Designed to replace shallow and deep bases
  • Easy-fit, easy to install and saving time
  • Model SA5000-210APO

XPERT 8 Base

The XPERT 8 Base is a universal base that fits all Apollo detectors. It can be used with Soteria EN and non-Isolated Discovery and XP95 devices.

  • Wide interior diameter for ease of access to cables and terminals
  • ‘E-Z Fit’ allows for simple mounting of the detector base after wiring
  • Isolated wiper – maintains loop connectivity during temporary removal of devices
  • Model SA5000-200APO

XP95 and Discovery Marine Isolating Base

The marine approved base senses and isolates short circuit faults on XP95 and Discovery loops and spurs.

  • Up to 20 detectors or their equivalent load, may be installed between isolating bases
  • High-brightness LED
  • Detects wiring short-circuits
  • Minimizes disruption from short-circuits
  • Model 45681-286MAR

Discovery UL Isolating Base

The UL approved base senses and isolates short circuit faults on XP95 and Discovery loops and spurs.

  • Up to 20 detectors or their equivalent load, may be installed between isolating bases
  • High-brightness LED
  • Detects wiring short-circuits
  • Minimizes disruption from short-circuits
  • Model 45681-284UL

Isolator Head / Isolator Base

This isolator is a stand-alone alternate solution to detector head / base isolators that provides isolation in Class A networks. The pair is placed at intervals on the loop to ensures that, in the case of a short circuit, only the section between the isolators will be affected. When the short circuit is removed, the isolators automatically restore power and data to the isolated section.

  • Detects wiring short-circuits using patented technology
  • Minimizes disruption from short-circuits
  • Automatic de-isolation on short-circuit removal
  • Up to 20 devices may be installed between isolators
  • Model 55000-750USA
  • The Isolator Base is unique and designed to only accept the Isolator 55000-750USA
  • Model 45681-286MAR
