Discrete Automation Module Type 3 (DAM-3)
With the introduction of our new product line (Chameleon+), 2023 (or while supplies last) marks the end of production for legacy Chameleon (EOL Announcement). We will continue to provide technical support on all EOL products. In addition, we will continue to repair the EOL products for as long as replacement parts can be acquired.

The Chameleon Discrete Automation Module (DAM-3) offers high-performance logic and batch control. The DAM-3 module contains ten digital inputs, ten solid-state relay outputs, four user-programmable push-buttons, and eight useraddressable tri-color LEDs that are software configurable. It is powered by an ARM processor with onboard RAM and flash memory providing sufficient computational power to handle the most demanding applications. As with all Chameleon modules, DAM-3 modules are hot-swappable and field upgradeable.
The DAM-3 module offers unique features generally not available in competing controller designs. Both its ten universal digital inputs and ten solid-state outputs are capable of accepting a broad range of AC and DC signals with no reconfiguration or rewiring required. The digital outputs consist of eight Form A normally open (NO) relays and two Form B normally closed (NC) relays.
The DAM-3 module uses an isolated wiring configuration for the solid state relays. Each relay has dedicated terminals with 1240V isolation that allow the user to mix AC and DC power connections on an individual basis. Digital inputs are grouped into two banks that provide the ability to mix high voltage and low voltage input signals.
DAM-3 modules have convenient label holders that can be associated with the programmable LEDs and push buttons. Multiple DAM3 modules can be combined to expand I/O capacity and to provide redundant I/O connections. They can also be combined with other Chameleon modules to form a full-featured programmable automation controller.
